Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS), Delta Beta chapter at the University of South Florida, is building the next generation of risk management and insurance (RMI) professionals. GIS creates a community for students who are interested in pursuing a career related to, or directly in, RMI. This student organization helps students connect with industry to gain a much deeper understanding of how RMI works at a practical level. GIS students participate in national and regional conferences, sharpen their leadership skills, and compete in case competitions across the country. Students also model the same culture of service as the RMI industry does with their community volunteering in our local region. They are connected across the #ONEUSF model leveraging virtual meeting platforms and digital technology. Students meet monthly - sometimes more - and engage in a variety of industry-focused experiences to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the field.
