Velvet Films was created in 2011 under the name ED Productions by Franz Esterházy von Galantha. The company produced, as Belgian delegate producer, the films « The Girl with Nine Wigs » by Marc Rothemund and « Me & Kaminski » by Wolfgang Becker. In 2016 the company is bought up by Sebastian Schelenz, producer and Christophe Jouret, Entrepreneur, and Velvet Films is born. In May 2017 André Sommerlatte joins the team as producer.
