Vendr is a simple and secure online marketplace where students
can exchange goods and services within their own community. The
company was built by students, for students, to address their unique
on-campus purchasing needs and habits. The founder and CEO, Andrew
Krinsky, came up with the idea for Vendr while taking classes at UMBC
in Baltimore, Maryland. He was frustrated by existing online
marketplaces that require cash exchanges with unknowns in potentially
dangerous areas of the city, or have hefty fees and shipping costs. He
set out to build an on-campus community where students can buy and
sell items to each other, safely and easily.
