Project led by Father Sandro Spinelli, Italian missionary who spent most of his life in Piauí, the poorest state in Brazil. Forty volunteers engaged in 9-month fundraising activities and operated throughout the semi-arid region of sertão in small groups, working and living for four weeks in “landless-workers” local villages and orphanages to have a real, first-hand experience of poverty
