The scope of the VMC allows riders to unite behind, and be represented by, a single CREDIBLE body advocating their common interests to the relevant authorities.
Let's be honest, if you're not part of the conversation there's very little hope in influencing the processes that impact our riding passion. To be a genuine part of that conversation you have to be a credible entity - this is central to the VMC's approach.
We actively and constructively engage in consultation with the likes of the State & Federal Governments, key Agencies including AustRoads, NTSC, VicRoads, PIMS, TAC, Victoria Police and the Department of Justice to provide practical input from a rider's perspective. And we're achieving sensible and positive outcomes as a result.
We also lobby all political parties, engaging directly with Ministers at both State and Federal level.
We aim to:
* Promote and improve all aspects of road safety concerning Victorian motorcyclists
* Promote the recognition of the environmentally beneficial place of motorcycles in transport planning
* Promote the awareness, understanding and acceptance of motorcyclists' safety needs
Our Charter:
* Protect motorcyclists' rights in the face of discriminatory legislation and practices
* Promote the social and personal benefits of motorcycling
* Promote appropriate planning and design of road infrastructure that is supportive to motorcycling
* Improving riders' skills to increase their safety and enjoyment
* Promote a balanced approach to liberty and regulation
* Work with interstate and international bodies to pursue mission objectives
* Ensure recognised, ongoing, credible motorcycle advocacy.
