The Vira I. Heinz Program for Women in Global Leadership is a transformational leadership and civic engagement development program that aims to empower students to have global mindsets and the tools to shine as the leaders of tomorrow.
Awardees embark on a yearlong learning journey that includes a summer study abroad experience and funding of at least $5,000 from The Heinz Endowments. VIH is based at the University of Pittsburgh Oakland campus. Universities and colleges across Pennsylvania participate in the VIH Program.
VIH is an opportunity for female identifying students with a 3.0 GPA in sophomore or junior status who would be first time international travelers (aside from a few outlined exceptions).
