Vilma slastice is a well-known company in Croatia, primarily for the production of the well-known Rab cake. Rab Cake was made as a specialty, even during the rule of Venice more than 300 years ago in the rich houses of Rab patricians. In the XIX. century, in addition to city families, the cake is made to order in the monastery of St. Anthony of Padua and later in the Benedictine monastery of St. Andrew. It was served on the occasion of the most solemn holidays and on the occasion of baptism, communion and Holy Confirmation. It had a round shape and was usually baked in "bars". There are fewer and fewer old grandmothers, who magically knew how to combine all the ingredients that make up Rab Cake. Their recipes are kept as a valuable legacy of the art of making a delicate crispy dough with a fragrant core.
