The founder/President of VIPS is former Police Captain and Commander Donna Roman Hernandez who served 30 years in law enforcement in the Patrol Division of both the Essex County and Caldwell Police Departments. During her police career Donna received the National Positive Force Award for saving the life of a domestic violence victim and served as an Adjunct Faculty member with the New Jersey Attorney General's Domestic Violence Training Team.
Donna is a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault expert and a victim/survivor of years of child abuse and decades of domestic violence in her home setting and is a survivor of sexual assault.
Donna is a radio show host and personality, an award-winning public speaker, writer and published author. She is an award-winning Director and filmmaker and the owner of Blue Force Films LLC www.blueforcefilms.com. Her memoir Battered Blue chronicles the abuse, violence and trauma she endured at the hands of her father and intimate partners. Battered Blue will be published in the Spring of 2020. Donna is available for book signings and as a keynote speaker at conferences, seminars, workshops and events.
