Palliative Care is a relatively new specialty offered to individuals with serious and chronic illnesses such as congestive heart failure, cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), AIDS, kidney failure and Alzheimer’s.
The Vital Palliative Care Team will work side by side with a patient’s Primary Care Physician, or Specialty Physician, to appropriately manage a patient’s pain and symptoms, while providing social support and resources to the patient’s family and friends.
Palliative Care will help you improve your ability to go through medical treatments, while you continue on with your daily life, and help you match your goals to your treatment choices.
