Vodoprivreda Požarevac was founded in 1956 as Požarevačka Vodna zajednica with a task to construct protective and drainage systems to protect municipalities of Požarevac, Veliko Gradište, Golubac, Kučevo, Petrovac, Malo Crniće, Žagubica and Žabare from flood and ice.
During next six decades it went through couple of status changes, mergers and splits, until it reached today's status.
