I, Raghav Nyati, started VolunteerCurriculum.com in June 2015 with the aim of providing English Curriculum services to Volunteers in the country.
The website hosts a freely accessible curriculum that volunteers can use to teach English to the underprivileged students in the country. I have uploaded about 500 pages of teaching content so far. I work with several NGOs in Hyderabad for classroom collaborations and improve the teaching content based on the volunteer feedback generated from this.
I always wanted the teaching content to be useful to as many people as possible. Hence the content starts from the most basic element in English - the alphabet and gradually moves on to sentence formation and more advanced concepts in English. I have taken considerable pains to ensure that there is no learning gap left in the curriculum. This is done by ensuring that each lesson plan builds upon the previous lesson plan's content. Furthermore, the teaching content is presented in simple conversational English, free from grammatical jargons, to minimise the before class preparation efforts for the volunteer. All these measures ensure that, with this curriculum, anyone who speaks English can teach English to anyone who needs this skill to progress in life.

I work with a team of online interns to get things done around the curriculum and website. And that is how this venture is scaled.
I am in the process of creating a full fledged online course which will help a volunteer create his own curriculum, customised to the needs of his students. Currently, a short course is available along the same lines and can be accessed through the home page.
