VCNC, or Vulnerable Children Need Care, was founded by Mr. Gilbert Niyomuhoza in 2019. Initially focused on a small area in Kimironko/Kwa Mushimire, the organization provided support to young vulnerable children facing challenges like addiction to drug abuse, lack of education, and basic needs. Gilbert, taking a hands-on approach, initiated efforts such as playing the guitar for kids for emotional assistance, visiting families of these kids to understand their needs and support them, and celebrating Christmas with them to create some joyful moments with them.
The impact of COVID-19 in 2020 heightened the need, prompting Gilbert to launch fundraisings and establish a Whatsapp group for collaboration. VCNC now directs its efforts towards supporting vulnerable children, emphasizing investments currently in their educational needs with a hope to meet other basic needs in the future.
