Wantage Grove Station Supporters Group

Wantage Grove Station Supporters Group company information, Employees & Contact Information

'Wantage Grove Station Supporters Group' is a group of volunteers who would like to see the Oxfordshire railway station re-opened, which was unfortunately closed in December 1964 due to the Dr Beeching cuts. The Great Western main line is still in use to this day, but GWR trains don't stop between Swindon and Didcot Parkway. The railway line originally opened in 1846 and used to serve the Wantage and Grove community for 118 years. Since 1964 the Wantage, Grove and surrounding villages community has grown significantly and it's now around c.34,000! Growth in the Vale of White Horse District Council area is set to continue to grow 137,900 in 2020 to 174,000 by 2030 (+36,100, +26%). Therefore, this is why we need the railway station to re-open in South Oxfordshire!
