War Eagle Motorsports (WEMS) is Auburn's collegiate design and race team. We design, manufacture, market, and race open-wheel racecars from scratch each year for the Formula SAE competitions held around the world. WEMS has a history of dedication, perseverance, and performance that we are proud to continue. Founded in 1995, the team has continued to grow and become more competitive with each passing year.
What is Formula SAE?
Formula SAE is a collegiate design series that allows students the opportunity to design, build, and race a single seater formula style race car against other college students from more than 750 colleges and universities worldwide. With the exception of safety regulations placed on the engine, motors, and chassis, the series rules are open, allowing students to show their creativity through their design of the car. The result is a great learning and team building experience. As an organization sponsored by the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, War Eagle Motorsports competes in various FSAE competitions held around the world.
