Our Mission— “To create an inclusive space in the Washington D.C. area where students and young dancers from across the globe can join together to display their artistic talent and compete among each other.”
Ballet competitions across the world and the country give young dancers the chance to showcase their talent, but the Washington D.C Grand Prix competition gives local students, who may not be able to travel, amazing opportunities to demonstrate their talent. The Classical Ballet Theatre of Maryland, a 501(c) nonprofit, established the Washington D.C Grand Prix competition to provide all U.S ballet students and young dancers access to world-class training, education, and scholarships from renowned schools and companies. Our mission is to create an inclusive space where young dancers from the U.S and around the world can come together to display their artistic talent, compete, and build new friendship, all while learning from world-class ballet teachers to enrich their skills and knowledge in the history of ballet. Donations support the development of our competition nationwide and contribute to the awards presented to our participants.
