Washington Pro Bono Council

Washington Pro Bono Council company information, Employees & Contact Information

The Washington Pro Bono Council (PBC) is an organization of members of the pro bono community, providing support and advocacy to the network of the 16 Volunteer Lawyer Programs (VLPs) in the State of Washington. The VLPs provide free, high quality, efficient, and innovative civil legal assistance to low-income people through the recruitment, training, supervision, and support of volunteer lawyers. Each VLP is a separate and independent entity providing legal services in a manner reflecting the history, resources, and needs of its local community. Each VLP is also a part of the statewide Alliance for Equal Justice. The PBC was formed in 2012 for the purpose of providing VLPs a forum to share concerns, creative ideas, participate in joint training, and to provide a unified voice for the Pro Bono community to the larger Access to Justice Community. The PBC, structured for organizational purposes, is a committee of the Access to Justice Board, and currently has two co-chairs and an Executive Committee which directs the operation of the PBC.
