Waste Wise Kids

Leading a new generation of eco-warriors and championing environmental education Waste Wise Kids is a non-profit organisation founded by Encore Environment in 2019. With an invaluable amalgamation of industry knowledge and teaching expertise, it provides UK primary schools with an on-site or online educational programme about waste, recycling and sustainability aimed at children aged 4-12 years. It focuses on educating children about the waste hierarchy and its impact on the environment in a fun, accessible way including a presentation with teachers notes, repurposing tasks, competitions, rewards chart and recycled handouts with a big focus on plastics. Children are actively encouraged to identify what waste is, its impact, and ways they can reduce, reuse, repurpose or recycle. To support the initiative financially, there is a range of membership options for businesses and individuals, and an appointed ‘influencers board’ of experts driving its growth. The initiative is having a hugely positive social impact on schools, children, parents, businesses and the wider community.
