Since 1906 the historic society has encouraged the research, preservation, and education of our shared community history. With a focus on Waukesha, County the organization reaches thousands of individually annually through the museum, research center & archive, and education center programs. The Museum features the LES PAUL WIZARD OF WAUKESHA exhibit, dedicated to the life and legacy of native son & music visionary Les Paul - inventor of the Gibson solid body electric guitar. Also featuring MAKING FACES: PORTRAITS BY JOHN KASTCH, a nationally touring exhibition of work by another Waukesha native son. John's work has appeared in countless publications, and the exhibition represents a careers worth of caricature work.
