BIRTHED OF BABYLON Built by King Nebuchadnezzar as a symbol of love for his queen, Amytis, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon grew gloriously on the banks of the Euphrates River. Caressed by shadow of the Tower of Babel, these gardens of legend represented far more than a grounds for plants to flower and vines to unfurl. Within the leafy walls of this lost paradise, visitors were said to savour everything that is secretly fawned over or openly cherished. Bursting forth with groves of olive tree – which stand for love, hospitality and well-being – the gardens stood as reminder that many of life’s treasures are in fact the immaterial. Rather, nothing is more precious to humanity than the inner workings of the spirit and the many beautiful avenues to be taken in learning those of others, as well as oneself. The coming of Semiramis, queen regent of the Assyrian Empire, did temporarily alter the namesake of this mythical botanical expanse. From unknown origins, bold Semiramis swept into the tomes of ancient history to command great fame and power, before vanishing with a footprint equally faint. In the same way that Nebuchadnezzar and his empire tended lovingly to his gardens, so do we to our bodies. They are the ever-flourishing gardens of our soul, bringing us great joy as we explore and cultivate them. And just as Semiramis did seize control of his gardens and guide them to her own intent, so do we have the power to elevate our inner gardens with Wonderful. We encourage you to treat your own self as lavishly and with equal love to that most magnificent garden of old. As wonderful, perplexing and intoxicating women gave birth to humanity and all of its riches, so do we continue this tradition in the creation of Wonderful, in which we instil these same essences of mystery, ferocity and self-love. Wonderful – because you’re nothing less.
