WoS had been a non-profit organization (NPO) committed to promoting open access in scientific research. The organization had achieved this by offering a private blockchain platform exclusively designed to accommodate open access scientific journals. This platform had enabled completely free access for both authors and readers, eliminating financial barriers to scientific knowledge.
Our mission had been to provide free hosting for scientific journals, benefiting both authors and readers. The platform operated on a voluntary basis, with contributors generously dedicating their time. At WooS, we had aspired to revolutionize the landscape of distributed AI platforms across private and public clouds. By harnessing the power of emerging technologies like Blockchain (Polkadot) and IPFS, we had aimed to create an AI-driven, decentralized open-access publication platform. We had led the effort to build the next generation of distributed AI platform for the private and public clouds.
Our vision was to democratize access to cutting-edge research, empowering millions of researchers, educators, clinicians, and professionals worldwide. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, the project faced challenges. Due to funding constraints and the inability to sustain essential infrastructure, we made the difficult decision to close the project in 2021.
While our journey with WooS may have ended, our commitment to advancing open access and scientific innovation remains unwavering. We are immensely grateful to our dedicated team and supporters who shared our vision and contributed to our mission.
