The history of Klosterneuburg Monastery and its wine estate begins in 1114. The winery cultivates 108 hectares of vineyards today. Klosterneuburg is situated near the river Danube, 10 kilometres north of Vienna, and owns vineyards in selected top locations in Klosterneuburg, Vienna, Gumpoldskirchen and Tattendorf. The various soils and the different microclimates in these 4 regions provide for the possibility to cultivate each grape variety in the ideal terroire. The product range is divided in two wine-lines: The „Stiftsweine“ are youthful, fresh, radiantly fruity wines, reflecting the typicity of each grape.The Single-vineyard wines are made from the best grapes from individual top locations and represent wines of distinctive character that are suitable for maturation.
Since the year 2009 it is the first carbon neutral wine estate in Europe.
