Everyone working in the field of solid-liquid seperation knows that all filtration problems have their own unique character. Individual solutions and custom-made equipment are the order of the day, not only for the press itself but also in terms of operation, safety, sludge, cleaning, filtrate removal and the processing of filtrate and filter cake.

Filter presses are used in a wide spectrum of industrial sectors, including flue gas treatment, soil and water treatment in the enviromental sector, the removal of residual materials in the mining industry, in the electroplating industry, in the textile industry and in glass manufacture.
Filtration technology is also used extensively by pharmaceutical companies and in the food and beverage industry. Filter presses are essential in the production of sugar, starch, vegetable oils, wine and beer.
In many cases, the main objective is to extract the solid component rather than to separate and recover the constituent parts of a mixture, e.g. minerals, metals, pigments and silicates.
A thorough feasibility study must be carried out first, to make a correct assessment of the filtration requirements. The study defines the characteristics of the mixture and the objectives of the filtration process, and is carried out in our in-house laboratory.
We can also install a pilot filter press to test the performance of the proposed solution in practice.
