Wellington Cable Car Limited proudly operates and maintains Wellington's historic Cable Car (one of New Zealand's only running funicular railway, since 1902). WCCL is a Wellington City Council-owned Council Controlled Organisation (it was incorporated in its current structure in 1991). WCCL employs 20 FTE with a further 10 casual personnel who assist during peak times (particularly during busy Cruise Ship visit days).
