The project will feature an arena and pool and potential subsequent phases.
This recreational facility will be centrally located on ACRD land, along Airport Road nearby the airport and the Long Beach Golf Course.
A unique partnership between the Districts of Tofino and Ucluelet, Long Beach Area C and the First Nations communities of Ahousaht, Toquaht, Yuułuiłath, Tla-o-qui-aht and Hesquiaht.
More children and youth are facing the lack of recreational facilities on the West Coast and so too are adults and seniors. With an average of 3 meters of rain per year, our winters are wet, cold, and tough. The rugged West Coast has limited access to small indoor facilities; no indoor arena facility or anything of that size. Our growing communities need more recreational facilities to offer diverse and sufficient programs and activities that will keep all residents here, engaged, well and healthy, all year!
