Foreign Direct Investment Moot West Africa (ECOWAS), seeks to expand the path and enrich the practice of Arbitration within West Africa. Leveraging the platform which FDI Moot competitions provide at an international level, we aim at equipping students and young professionals, with the requisite skills, with which they can become sterling Arbitration practitioners.
For us, there is a bigger picture. We are convinced that when we raise expert Arbitrators, we position them to make invaluable contributions to Arbitration practice, Foreign Direct Investment Law and by ripple effect, international relations. This will, in effect, improve quality representation of West Africa (and Africa at large) in these fields. Thus, beyond merely raising Arbitrators who can do well for themselves, we seek to raise Arbitrators who can do well for the region and the entire continent.
While we have started to build from Nigeria - through the FDI Moot Nigeria Initiative3 - we are working towards expanding our efforts to other states within the West African region. With the gracious involvement of top practitioners from across parts of the field, we are positive that our goals are getting realized, an inch at a time.
We will show every step of our journey via this page. This journey is however not for us only. We invite you to collaborate with us to raise revolutionary Arbitrators from Nigeria, West Africa and Africa at large.
