Homework Helpers is a dedicated team of Westborough High School student volunteers with a dream to revolutionize the way students learn.
Ever since we began, our focus has been providing free academic support three times/week to students at the local middle school in a one-to-one setting. Concentrating on guiding students towards mastery of concepts, we strive to build their self-confidence in their abilities. Even for the brightest of students, school isn’t always easy, and we aspire to create a positive learning environment, motivating every student to achieve their individual goals.
Knowing many students struggled with assignments when academic help is unavailable, Grace Cheng launched an interactive online platform on our website with on-demand tutoring, open 4-9PM all seven days of the week, to instantaneously connect students seeking help with Homework Helpers experienced in that subject.
Over the past three years, our team has spent over 500 hours in classrooms after school and nearly 1000 hours on our online platform working with students. It has been an incredibly rewarding journey so far, and our team is brimming with new ideas to continue to expand our program to reach more students. It will take time to achieve our goal of equal opportunity for all, but we believe our program can make a difference–one student at a time.
Homework Helpers has received 3 educational grants from the Westborough Education Foundation to expand our program and extend our services to a larger student body.
