Founded in 1851, Westminster College is a selective, private undergraduate college that offers a curriculum based on the liberal arts with an emphasis on the developmental experience. Westminster offers 29 majors and 39 minors, three specialty programs, and three dual-degree programs. For these reasons and more, Westminster is ranked prestigiously by U.S. News & World Report as the only National Liberal Arts College in Missouri. On March 5, 1946, Winston Churchill delivered his famous "Iron Curtain" speech on campus, resulting in a tradition of renowned leaders who accept speaking engagements at the College based on its established reputation on the world stage. Prominent on campus are America's National Churchill Museum, the historic Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury, and the monumental "Breakthrough" sculpture created from eight sections of the Berlin Wall.
