Wheel With Me Foundation is focused on supporting and empowering wheelchair users to achieve a higher level of independence through the avenues of peer education, community meet-ups, online empowerment events, and independence programming. We are pursuing this mission through a combination of online and in-person events, continuing to grow our network and overall reach.
Our ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between traditional rehabilitation and independent living. We plan to accomplish this through the creation of a transitional home that individuals can enter upon leaving inpatient rehabilitation, as they begin to create their place in the real world.
Targeted and compassionate mentorship will be provided to each resident with emphasis on wheelchair skills, addressing and overcoming daily obstacles in real-life scenarios, and caring for themselves holistically while fostering their own personal development. Upon graduation, the resident will be confident reintegrating into their home, community, and workplace.
