Supporting 40+ Whitireia students a year through scholarships generously provided by local businesses, families and partner Foundations in Wellington, Kāpiti and Porirua. With the skill shortage in health, construction and social services being ever more challenging, Whitireia Weltec expects continued growth in enrolments in these areas. Potentially, a significant number of older students will be forging new careers for themselves. They may have studied before, so that the Year 1 Free Fees opportunity is not available to them. Whoever our students are, whether just out of school, or changing their career path through study, the extra level of support that comes from a scholarship provides them with the opportunity to excel, as they minimise their commitment to paid work and direct energy and enthusiasm into their chosen course of study.
