We are a non for profit organization committed to empowering and elevating the role of women in the mining industry across Central America and the Caribbean, actively working in countries such as Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Jamaica.
Our Mission:
At Women in Mining Central America, we strive to create a more inclusive and diverse mining sector where women have equal opportunities to contribute, grow, and lead. Through our initiatives, we aim to transform mining into an industry that values and celebrates female contributions at all levels.
Our Three Pillars:
1. Education: We firmly believe that education is the foundation of empowerment. Thus, we provide programs, workshops, and seminars aimed at fostering the professional development of women in mining and encouraging young women to pursue STEM-related careers in the sector.
2. Advocacy: We stand as a leading voice advocating for the rights and interests of women in the industry, promoting policies and practices that ensure a safe, respectful, and equitable working environment. We also work tirelessly to change the narrative of the mining industry.
3. Women in Mining: We highlight and celebrate the achievements of women in the sector, creating platforms for their visibility and recognition. Our initiatives are designed to inspire, connect, and support female mining professionals throughout the region.
