WIM Zimbabwe is a national organization and a partner of the International Women In Mining(WIM) Global network for women in mining dedicated to fostering resilience and empowering individuals, particularly women and youth, in communities impacted by mining and related industries. By addressing critical challenges like child labor, gender inequality, and environmental degradation, WIM Zimbabwe champions sustainable development and leadership for a better future.
Our commitment to responsible mining practices is guided by the CRAFT Code Standards, ensuring our work adheres to ethical, environmental, and social governance principles. By promoting fair practices, improving health and safety, and mitigating environmental impacts, WIM Zimbabwe fosters a culture of accountability and sustainability in artisanal and small-scale mining operations.
The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) has played a pivotal role in formalizing WIM Zimbabwe, providing the knowledge, resources, and networks essential to transforming our vision into an officially recognized organization.
