You don't need to have had a spectacular 'rock bottom' to benefit from rethinking your relationship with alcohol.
I work with clients to help them regain control over what is, essentially, an addictive substance. Some clients go on to moderate their drinking, but most find that they simply no longer want to drink alcohol; that it becomes small and irrelevant in their lives; that they are looking at alcohol in their rear view mirror.
This is a coaching method that is very different to AA. It doesn't blame the drinker and doesn't rely long-term on willpower, which, as you have probably found out, is a pretty finite resource. Rather than feeling deprived, my clients find joy, clarity and renewed feelings of self-worth. They feel better physically and emotionally.
