Winter Sports World (WSW) is Australia’s largest private tourism construction project, positioned to establish Western Sydney as a year-round tourism hub through Australia’s first indoor snow resort. The $500 million + project aligns with Federal Government objectives for regional economic growth, job creation, increasing the visitor economy and sustainable infrastructure development. Featuring Olympic-standard sports facilities, WSW will draw both domestic and international visitors, promoting economic and social benefits on a large scale.
The project will inject $222 million annually into the Western Sydney economy, with a cumulative impact of $2.5 billion over the first decade. Expected to be one of NSW’s most popular paid attractions, WSW will establish Western Sydney as a tourism hub, encouraging longer stays and more comprehensive visitor engagement across the region.
Over 2,724 jobs will be created throughout the construction and operational phases, making WSW a top employer in Penrith. This influx of jobs addresses local employment needs and creates opportunities across tourism, hospitality, and sports sectors.
WSW is set to attract 1.35 million annual domestic visitors, with an additional significant take-up from international markets such as the JAPA region, led by Singapore.
