Women Friendly is a social initiative which aims to promote compassionate and understanding communication between women patients and their healthcare providers, in all medical fields. Our approach invites both parties to create a connection of equality and mutual understanding in order to provide optimal medical and mental healthcare.
The Women Friendly philosophy is derived from the realization that a medical encounter is comprised of the following information:
1. The professional knowledge of the healthcare provider
2. The personal knowledge of the patient concerning herself- her personal history, her difficulties and potential triggers, and her own coping mechanisms
These bodies of knowledge are two essential components for the successful management of a medical case.
Our model offers a new and innovative psychological view of the interaction between women patients and healthcare providers, before and during medical interventions. We implement this notion through the following measures:
- Emotional preparation and support of women patients prior to medical encounters and check-ups
- Informative lectures about the women friendly approach for medical teams in hospitals and clinics
- Professional training for healthcare providers concerning suitable medical and mental treatment for Women with complex psychosocial backgrounds
- Supervision, case-training for medical students and medical professionals
- Integration of Women Friendly pre-checkup forms, filled by Women Friendly qualified professionals and their patients, into hospitals throughout the country
- Management of the Women Friendly Facebook group and page, in which patients and medical professionals are encouraged to ask and answer questions in a Friendly manner fitted to the spirit of our project
