Women in mining Kenya is a grass root organization and social impact enterprise working in western in Kenya. WIM Kenya serves as a platform for economic and social elevation of livelihoods among artisanal and small scale gold miners through the lens of women.
WIM Kenya is a pioneer for sustainable practices in artisanal mining, giving women an opportunity to own their craft, tell their story and progressively work towards eliminating harmful practices in mining such as risky mining practices, use of toxic chemicals i.e. mercury in gold processing, gender inequality and human rights abuse.
