Women In Stem Hub (Wish)

Women In Stem Hub (Wish) company information, Employees & Contact Information

Women In Stem Hub (WISH) is a project initiated in response to the recognised disparity between men and women staff research culture at Kingston University (KU). The purpose of the project is to enhance opportunities for women researchers to lead collaborative and interdisciplinary pilot projects and provide training/skills learning opportunities for all staff and PGRs. The success and continuous need for enhancing research culture among women means the project should be an ongoing programme to embrace enthusiasm, innovation and opportunities to grow. Such a project will also support the actions of the ECE faculty EDI (Equality Diversity and Inclusion) group. WISH was founded at Kingston University by Dr Purva Tavri (environmental management) and Dr Farzana Rahman (data science), aiming to enhance opportunities for women and underrepresented researchers to lead interdisciplinary projects. WISH provides workshops for staff and postgraduate researchers led by external academics and professionals. This project was encouraged by their respective research directors, Professor Jean-Christophe Nebel and Dr Siaka Dembele from both schools since its inception.
