The Bay of Plenty Education Trust is a charitable organisation focused on the advancement of education. The Trust identifies, funds and develops educational opportunities in the Coastal BOP.
The Trust provides financial assistance by way of grants and scholarships for students and educational programmes at tertiary level, particularly in the area of science, technology and other practical disciplines. It also supports trades and technical training through community-based programmes.
Operating since 1985, the Trust is involved in:
• The provision of scholarships for tertiary education
• The development of ideas and facilities for the enhancement of education in the region
• The funding of community trade training schemes
• The development of future leaders in the community
• The provision of supplementary grants annually awarded to organisations such as (but not limited to) The Graeme Dingle Foundation, Blue Light Life Skills Programme, and House of Science.
