Dover Citadel Limited acquired The Citadel, Uk's most advanced Napoleonic Fortification from the Ministry of Justice in September 2020 following a competitive tender process. The company's vision for the site is to transform it into a unique hotel and workspace with a focus on sustainability.
The first phase of development, which is expected to be completed by the end of March, will involve the conversion of some of the site's underground historic structures for commercial use. The Citadel, which spans over 220,000 square feet and features over 54 buildings, is currently being used as a film set and has hosted numerous big-budget productions from Marvel, Netflix, Apple TV, music videos and many TV shows.
