In around 1679, Wynand Fockink opened his spirits and liqueur distillery on the Pijlsteeg in the bustling city centre of Amsterdam. In those days distilleries usually included a tasting house and a shop; Wynand Fockink's was no exception. Today, three centuries later, the Pijlsteeg distillery contains an extraordinary collection of antique bottles in premises still furnished in the style of the seventeenth century. Wynand Fockink has continued, throughout the years, to specialise in liqueurs and jenevers which you can still see being made in the distillery.
