The XAE Seedbed (Xaverian Aerospace Engineering) is a student-led initiative affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, focused on aerospace engineering and related disciplines. It functions as a formative research and technological development group where students from various academic programs collaborate on multidisciplinary projects involving aerodynamics, aerospace structures, control electronics, programming, applied physics, design, and more. Its main objectives are to foster interest in these fields, provide continuous technical training, and promote professional ethics, teamwork, and technical creativity.
Members of the seedbed are organized into hierarchical levels according to their experience and training, ranging from aspiring members in the initial stages of formation to senior members capable of leading projects and participating in the group’s leadership. Through mentoring, hands-on activities, active involvement in projects, and the fulfillment of academic and technical responsibilities, the seedbed seeks to support students’ comprehensive development. It also encourages a collaborative environment where all progress is documented in digital platforms, responsible use of resources is enforced, and ethical conduct is expected in both academic and operational aspects.
