In 1998, Jay Forrester, a former MIT professor and the inventor of system dynamics field, in a paper called "Designing the Future" predicted that in the future the MBA schools will train "enterprise designers" instead of "business operators" as it is done today. To prove his point, he used an analogy that exists in an airline operations. In this case you have two fundamental roles, the plane pilot and the plane designer. It is obvious that the "plane designer" is the key role in the way a business works and the pilot operates.
