YAS Charity helps fund a host of fantastic initiatives teaching thousands of people CPR and first aid skills, as well as part-funding Community Public Access Defibrillators in cities, towns, villages, and more rural areas across the region that do not already have access to them.
We also support our Community Engagement team to deliver initiatives that help improve the lives of vulnerable people and reduce health inequalities.
We help fund the annual YAS Restart a Heart Day which offers CPR training for secondary school children. Since launching in 2014, 234,708 students have learnt CPR during 1,047 school visits thanks to ambulance staff and volunteers who have given 39,213 hours (2014-2024).
And we also support the health and wellbeing of Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) employees and volunteers who help save lives every day. We enhance and promote good physical and mental health among our YAS colleagues by providing funding for initiatives that come directly from staff suggestions.
