The Young Artist Academy™ Award is a Hollywood-based award that recognizes artistry, talent, and technique in young performers ages 5-18. Its equivalents – the Emmy Awards for television, the Tony Awards for theater, and the Grammy Awards for music – are modeled after the Academy Awards for film. Since 1978, the Young Artist Academy™ hosts Hollywood's longest running youth awards event.
Affectionately called the "Youth Oscars" by Huffington Post, the Academy has worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood over the last 40 years, and is the only youth awards show to be structured the same as major Hollywood guilds like the Grammys, Emmys, Tony’s, Cesars, Canadian Screen Awards, and the Academy Awards. Complete with Academy membership and peer voting, members experience the same process as major award guilds, and receive the advantage and experience of participating in Hollywood's adult counterpart awards associations when eligible.
The Academy continues to offer exclusive industry connections, networking, press training, protection education, academy references, and publicity opportunities for young artists on the rise. The Academy created new categories to support all storytellers and art forms, including; dance, music, and social influencers.
The Academy’s annual awards show is produced by Stage Managers, Directors, Writers and Producers carrying Child Performer Services Permits. Though not required, the Young Artist Academy™ is one of the only youth awards shows in Hollywood that carries a Krekorian Talent Bond, as well as insisting escorting agents have a Child Performer Services Permit. The Academy Board of Governors aim to educate, protect, and train young entertainers to safely navigate and elevate in Hollywood, while giving them an annual platform for high-class recognition.
When educated and mentored to recognize specific elements of artistry, young members become proficient and valuable members of the entertainment industry.
