Young + Satharia (Pty) Ltd was established in March 2008 by Abdool Satharia, to provide a Consulting Engineering Practice specialising in Structural and Civil Engineering based on a background of extensive experience and recognised success in the above fields.
Young + Satharia (Pty) Ltd specialises in all sectors of Structural and Civil Engineering covering the design and supervision of reinforced, pre-stressed and pre-cast concrete, structural steel and timber Projects and Civil Engineering site works design for associated building projects. Housing developments are also undertaken, covering stormwater and sewer reticulation, earthworks and roadworks. The role of Project Leader or Principal Agent is also available for Industrial, Commercial and Housing projects.
The office is based in Durban, and has an association with practices in Gauteng. Since establishment has followed a committed policy of Affirmative Action, both internally with regard to the employment and advancement of our staff, and externally with regard to our association with Professionals, Contractors and the Community.
The Practice believes in updated computer application and utilises computer aided design and draughting techniques, with our own plotting and printing facility. We are a Member of the South African Association of Consulting Engineers and SABTACO and have appropriate Professional Indemnity Insurance cover for R10.0m. We have a total staff on 15 including 5 graduate Engineers and 5 technicians established in our own office building.
The Practice has built up a client base comprising Corporate Companies, the Public Service, Educational Institutions, Developers, Contractors, Architects and Planners, where the philosophy of working as part of a team has been recognised.
The range of projects undertaken to date covers International Airport Buildings, a Convention and Exhibition Centre, Prisons, Hospitals, office blocks, shopping complexes, commercial and residential developments, community and tourist facilities, structural steel framed industrial premises, refurbishment of existing commercial and industrial premises, harbour marine structures and specialised professional opinions on the performance of completed buildings.
