Underlying nearly everything in high school students' pursuits is the pressure to perform. Much of their work is judged, fairly or unfairly. This is true of college admissions, and it is especially true of the SAT and ACT exams. Admission decisions and scholarship offers are directly affected by standardized test scores. Scores aren't the most important things students work for, but they do matter. We understand that families can often use help navigating the test-taking process. Your Steps To College, Inc. tries to address this need by offering a tutoring program that is both comprehensive and reassuring. Just because the standardized tests are important doesn't mean they also must be daunting or dismaying. We work hard to honor the trust our clients show in allowing us to tutor their high schoolers. We want students to have a positive experience with us and strive to create a fun but productive environment. We work with students of all academic achievement levels in one-on-one sessions. We promise to value the time our students spend with us and try to provide sessions free from interruptions. We believe in assigning homework for each session, but we also believe in a balanced workload; a student’s regular schoolwork shouldn't be sacrificed to complete any work we give out. We want parents to have a positive experience with us, too. Your input and your questions are important to us. We encourage you to share any thoughts you might have. We provide a program and suggest a schedule, but we rely on you to tell us if either is unrealistic or stressful. Please let us know if you think your student is overwhelmed or too busy to keep appointments or complete homework. We promise to keep you informed and involved.
