Our Story
Founded in 2017 by Anna Njoroge, Ythera was created to honour and celebrate the African woman — her power, beauty, and grace. The brand draws inspiration from Anna’s grandmother and the Kikuyu name Waithera. The distinctive pattern of Ys in our logo reflects the timeless Kikuyu neckpiece, a symbol of strength, pride, and belonging. Every product tells this story: a celebration of heritage, resilience, and the limitless spirit of women.

Every Ythera product you choose helps change a life. For every item sold, we donate $1 to sponsor a Mina Menstrual Cup for a girl in Africa because no girl should miss school because of her period. Through our partnership with the Mina Foundation, we are working to end period poverty and keep girls where they belong: in the classroom, building their future.
