Every day, thirteen children are diagnosed with a brain tumor, the deadliest and most common form of pediatric cancer yet less than 4% of federal funding is directed at pediatric cancer research, with only a small fraction of these funds being used for brain tumor research. Foundations like ours are critical to funding research to find a cure.
The Yuvaan Tiwari Foundation was established in 2021 by Parvati and Satya Tiwari to honor the legacy of their son Yuvaan (Yuvi). At age two, Yuvi was diagnosed with a rare and deadly brain tumor called diffuse midline glioma (DMG). Yuvi bravely fought DMG for seven months, enduring thirty days of radiation therapy, multiple surgeries, countless doctor visits and MRIs, and several hospital stays. The Yuvaan Tiwari Foundation is built on love, hope and an unwavering determination to find a cure for DMG.
Focused research on rare brain tumors like DMG has the potential to uncover new avenues of treatment not just for children with brain tumors, but also for other childhood and adult cancers.
