Founded in 1860, ZAPPA MACCHINE S.r.l. is based in Ponte Lambro, near Como, a city famous worldwide for its flourishing silk industry, and it has been traditionally managed by the Zappa and Borin families through six generations. From the production of silk spinning machines and iron casting in two different factories, in the 1940s the company evolved to coating machinery, assembling the first coating head ever produced in Italy.
The company produces machinery and complete lines for: coating (blade in air, blade over roll), impregnation, lamination (with hot melt reactive polyurethane, hot melt thermoplastic adhesives, thermoplastic powder, etc.), calendering, manufacturing of pre-preg (on the basis of carbon fiber, glass fiber and synthetic fiber), rotary screen printing head, hot melt printing machines for fashion film/foil production, special purpose lines and laboratory equipment.
