The Conference on International Exchange of Professionals started in 2001 upon approval of the State Council. The 1st to the 4th CIEPs were held in Nanjing, jointly hosted by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA), the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province, and the People’s Government of Nanjing Municipality. The 5th CIEP was held in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, jointly hosted by the SAFEA, the Northeast Old Industrial Based Rejuvenation Office of the State Council, the People’s Government of Liaoning Province, and the People’s Government of Shenyang Municipality. Starting from 2007, the 6th and all the following CIEPs have been jointly hosted by SAFEA in Shenzhen.
The CIEP is China’s largest state-level international event that focuses on the exchange of high-end professionals and cutting-edge ideas, and it is China’s only talent gathering oriented towards foreign expert organizations, training institutions and professional talents. It is a comprehensive convention wherein talents, intelligence, technologies, projects and management are integrated. During 14 years of exploration and development, the CIEP has consistently pursued its goal of building a “high-end international platform for global elites based on latest information technology and following the law of market”. Through the years, it has gradually developed into a global platform for the exchange of professionals and ideas from all across the world, and has been continuously improving in terms of scale, specifications, contents and achievements.
