太陽光採光システム協議会は、経済産業省の支援により｢太陽光採光システム｣がエネルギー需給構造改革推進投資税制の対象設備に指定されたことを受け、同システムの普及・発展を目的として関連の企業によって設立されました。
太陽光採光システムは,地球温暖化対策技術として導入拡大が期待されている自然エネルギー活用システムのうち、太陽エネルギー活用システムの１つとして位置付けられます。
太陽光採光システムの市場拡大を目的とした広報活動を行うために各社間における情報交換、統一的な技術資料作りなどを中心に行い、年間１回の総会と毎月運営委員会を開催しています。また、本協議会のインターネット・ホームページを開設して、普及・広報活動や建築雑誌・学会誌への論文投稿や広告掲載、展示会等への出展などを企画、運営しています。
